Well Alright, NBC is Making Some Series Decisions!

SAVE ME -- Season: Pilot (Photo by: Robert Trachtenberg/NBC)

As we bid a fond farewell to the pilot season hoopla, we welcome in series pickups! NBC is flooding the trades with loads of series announcements.

The network has picked up the single-camera comedy, 1600 Penn. Rumor has it that this show has a Modern Family-like vibe, but takes place in the White House and circles around First Family hijinks. Bill Pullman is playing the President of the United States. Guess our hopes for Independence Day: The Next Day just went out the window. We also noticed little, Amara Miller (The Descendants) is part of the cast as well. Good for her! This is her second acting gig and we wish her all the best.

Anne Hache’s sitcom, Save Me is a go. If you can recall, Save Me is the story of a woman who gets into a bad accident and afterwards claims to be able to channel God.  Let’s hope she is receiving positive messages.

Cast of NBC's 'The New Normal'

Executive Producer Ryan Murphy’s The New Normal got the thumbs up as well. Normal is a comedy about a Gay blended family.  Actress Ellen Barkin is part of the cast. It’s good to see her working.

As if he isn’t busy enough, J.J. Abrams’ Revolution received the green light. This pilot sneaked past our radar, but sounds rather intriguing…it’s about a world that suddenly looses technology.  Something tells us that parents are gonna LOVE this one.  J.J. this won’t interrupt with your working on the new installment of Star Trek will it?  We hope not.
