Carry On & Intern with Guest Donna Ballman

Hello and Happy Spring To You All,tileagain

We’re kicking off a new season of the podcast with a discussion about internships.

Over the past year we have noticed an uptick in articles related to internships and lawsuits, which got us to thinking, How much do we really know about internships and the law? The answer, not much, which is why we invited expert employment lawyer and author, Donna Ballman, to help us make sense of what is happening and understand what a proper internship should be.

If you are one of the many people who will be interning this Summer, this is the show that you need to listen to.

Happy Holidays to All!

Happy Happy Holidays Ya’ll!

We interrupt your merriment to wish you a very happy holiday and a prosperous New Year!

As you may have noticed, we have taken an extensive break from podcasting. So much has happened over the past year. We lost a few friends and family members. That was hard, but we pushed ahead and threw ourselves into work. Speaking of work, we would like to take a minute and congratulate our co-host Dan Evans on landing the coolest job ever! Dan is now the Director of Development of Animation at Marvel Studios, so you know homeboy is gonna be busy. Congrats to you Dan and thank you for the many hours of podcasting fun. Enjoy the new gig!

As for Kia and me, we will be back in January 2014 with fresh shows for your listening pleasure. We plan on posting tons of content and presenting more engaging guests. Maybe Dan will bless us with his presence at some point. Will ya’ Dan, will ya?

We have to say that we consider ourselves very blessed when it comes to the podcast. Over the past few years we have had some wonderful people on the show who have been so gracious with their time and willing to share their knowledge with us. To them, we would like to say, “Thank you!”

To our listeners, we thank you for downloading the show and for all of your positive feedback. We can not tell you how much we appreciate it and how helpful your comments and suggestions have been, so please do keep them coming!

With that said, you may resume your festivities. Have fun, be safe, and enjoy the holiday!

The Attack of the Annies

collageWell folks, it looks like there is another version of the classic tale of Little Orphan Annie underway.

Will and Jada Pinckett-Smith’s production company, Overbrook Entertainment, is officially in production and have Beasts of the Southern Wild actress, Quvenzhané Wallis, hard at work.

Question, are you done with the story or are you up to just one more push? Either way, you should buckle your seatbelt cause Hollywood is taking Annie from the depths of the depression in 1930 and jump cutting to her riding a Citi bike through present day Harlem!

Did We Mention We’re On Vacay?

Hiya Peeps!beach

With all of the heat wave hoopla and binge-watching, we forgot to mention that we are taking a Summer break from the podcast.

Fear not fans, in between episodes of Orange is the New Black and the new season of Breaking Bad, we are brainstorming new show ideas for the Fall season and as always we are counting on you, our listeners, for suggestions.

Be sure to leave your comments below or feel free to email us at podcast [at] yougetitgotitgood [dot] com.

Okay, back to barbecuing and being bad. Enjoy the rest of your Summer guys and stay safe!

Episode 44: Seriously Series Pickups

Greetings Listeners,

This week we discuss a few of the pilots that have been picked up for series.

What will be the hit? A police drama that takes place in Sleepy Hallow? A comedy about a Mom trying to remain clean and sober? Or will it be the revamp of the popular police series, Ironside? You be the judge.
Sit back and enjoy!
